Samay Sayala
Samay Sayala is a French horn player and composer from Seattle, Washington, passionate about using music not only as a means of artistic expression, but also as a force for community impact. He is a first-prize winner of the Washington Music Educators Association Solo Contest, and has also been recognized by the Northwest Horn Symposium for his orchestral and chamber music performances. Based in the Bay Area, he performs regularly while also dedicating time to music education, coaching ensembles and teaching lessons. Beyond performance, Samay served as Executive Music Director of the Student Music Initiative (SMI), a nonprofit organization committed to creating performance opportunities for young musicians while supporting charitable causes. Under his leadership, the group’s flagship event, Christmas Music for the Cure, successfully raised funds for the American Cancer Society. He is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Horn Performance at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he studies with Kevin Rivard.
